About BLD

The Bukas Loob Sa Diyos Covenant Community, normally referred to as simply "BLD", is a communion of families and a community of persons, called together as one people through a moment of encounter and a process of renewal, to a relationship of faith, hope and love with God.
BLD was formally organized on June 16, 1983, and was (and continues to be) involved in the Marriage Encounter Apostolate of the Marriage Encounter Foundation of the Philippines with Father Pascual Adorable, SJ as its original Spiritual Director.BLD's current Spiritual Director is Bishop Angel Lagdameo.
As a communion of encountered families, we are called by the Lord to build families of disciples of Jesus Christ. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we will work so that others may have healing and wholeness. We will be defenders in Christ of Spiritual Growth, Pastoral Care and Poverty Alleviation. We are the Lord's lay undershepherds and witnesses to the Word. We will be counselors with the Spirit. We will be defenders in Christ of those who suffer injustice and oppression.
The community is Roman Catholic in its essence, charismatic in its activities and faithful to the Magisterium of the Church. Each BLD District is under the ecclesial authority of the local Archdiocese. This ensures that all activities and teachings of BLD Districts are in accordance with official doctrines and dogmas of the Church.

About BLD, Hong Kong

BLD Hong Kong was founded in 1987, and is one of over 40 BLD districts worldwide. Our main activities are: weekly prayer meetings (Wednesdays) and weekly Bible reflections (Fridays) at St. Joseph's Church, Garden Road; Healing Masses on the first Wednesday of every month; and various spiritual growth teachings for members as scheduled by the community elders.
The community sponsors Marriage Encounter (ME) Weekends for Catholic married couples, Life in the Spirit Seminars (LSS), Singles Encounters (SE), and Family Encounters (FE). Its members serve in various capacities (lectors, readers, Eucharistic Ministers, choir members, catechism teachers, etc.) in their respective parishes. BLD-HK is an active member of the Hong Kong Catholic Charismatic Service Committee (HKCCSC), and conducts various outreach activities with the various prayer groups affiliated with the HKCCSC.
